Hoping someone has an idea for this issue. So I have Numerus Dell laptops most Latitude A handful of users are reporting sound and mic issues when using zoom. The Zoom meetings are with multiple different people. Testing the sound and mic using windows mic test, youtube, go-to-meeting, and others I can't replicate the issue.
Since all laptops are Dell, I have used the Dell command to update drivers and make sure windows updates are done, have also installed the zoom desktop app, but the zoom audio issues on dell laptop здесь still appearing whether the user is sell the web app or desktop app.
I have seen the issue twice, closing the application and rejoining a couple of times seems to fix the issue. I am hoping someone has a better fix? Unfortunately there isn't much to go on. How frustrating! I've got users who have the onboard Realtek array go completely dead. Nothing comes through the microphone in the 'Sound Settings' until I reinstall the driver, or delete the audio device from compmgmt.
The folks with headsets seem to have the microphone go dead at the same as the onboard. I've got a machine right now E on 6. This is the version that support. At this point, I'm convinced it's intermittent across many versions. The hard part is that all of the testing is happening with real people who need to get work done on these calls.
The next best thing might be trying to capture the event with Procmon in an effort to further help the vendors isolate where this interaction is happening. Guess what?
After tickets open with everyone, Zoom engineering team provided this response - Microsoft is releasing a hotfix for this problem at the end of Sept! Big relief! Unfortunately the suggestion of rolling back drivers did not help all the users, but we have alternatives until this hotfix is released. Wanted to let everyone know.
Thanks, fixfinder for helping us all work together! Hi Katie, Apologies for the inconvenience. We do have existing tickets having the same issue with Dell machines, the engineering team confirmed that it is an audio driver issue with Realtek.
Our engineering team already notified Dell about this issue and in addition, Dell also reached out to Microsoft informing the said fault.
Microsoft advised that they will release a hotfix for this issue around end of September. While waiting for the hotfix, you may try to roll-back to the old driver or uninstall a Windows driver update dated June 11th, Thursday. This information came from a similar post from this link. In response to Teresa It broke up my classroom twice today. This happens on two different laptops both with the Zoom requirements fully met and running Windows 8. This happens in meetings of multiple sizes and I'm hearing from my students that a few of them have the same issue. It happens when I log in directly from their website, use our in-school login or use the Zoom app.
It began after the June 1 updates. I never had that error message prior to that, even though we've been using Zoom since mid-March. Just one thing I've been trying which seems to have worked so far is to run the laptop just off battery power when using zoom. Interestingly, the issue only happens with the power supply connected.
Just thought I'd share in case it helps you out temporarily until we can work out a permanent fix. I am having this very same issue and it only began after investing into a brand new Lenovo laptap with intel core i5 8th Gen. My old laptop was a Core i3 and no problems with Zoom. Hi kniemannsorry to hear that! Laptpp a tough one for us as well. The only thing I have not tested is going back to Zoom 5. I feel it's something introduced in Zoom's software vs. Realtek since it impacts us on various drivers going back ways.
